A distorted image means the LCD screen is broken. Sometimes this can happen from a hard drop without cracking the glass casing. Group Micro techs can disassemble your iPhone Xr and replace only the LCD screen if the Glass is still intact. If the Glass is also broken, you will need to replace both the Glass & the LCD (not just the LCD).
